If you're considering a new
health plan or just wondering how your current healthcare plan stacks up against
others, The National Committee for Quality Assurance can provide you with
valuable information.
The NCQA is an independent,
non-profit organization whose mission is to "evaluate and report the quality of the nation's managed care plans." In it's evaluation of health plans throughout the U.S., it graded them based on
the following: customer service, physician qualifications, routine preventive care provided, and disease management programs.
For more information about a particular health plan, visit the web site www.ncqa.org
or call 888-275-7585. Customer service representatives are available weekdays from 8:30am to 5:00pm EST.
